Metro-North ends beside downtown and across from the Glass House visitor center. Grace Farms, Waveny Park, and most regional lodging require a car or arranged ride.

Arrive by train

Metro-North’s New Canaan Branch links Stamford and New Canaan in roughly twenty minutes on many scheduled trips. The station is across from the Glass House visitor center and close to Elm Street, but the tour property itself is reached only by its official shuttle. Check the date-specific schedule and alerts before tying a train to a timed ticket.

Use a car beyond town

Grace Farms, Waveny Park, and regional hotels are not part of the downtown walking cluster. From Stamford, a clear-road drive to central New Canaan is commonly about 15 to 20 minutes; add traffic, parking, and check-in time before a tour. Interstate 95 (I-95), the Merritt Parkway, and Route 124 serve different approaches, so use live road conditions rather than a fixed estimate.

Compare airports

Westchester County Airport (HPN), about 16 road miles away, is the closest commercial option but has a smaller route network. LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) offer broader flight choices with a longer, traffic-sensitive road transfer. None provides a direct rail arrival in New Canaan; arrange a rental car, taxi, or rideshare for the final leg.
